Parkdene Academy learners excel at Maths-A-Thon Challenge
06 October 2025What is a Maths-A-Thon?
A Maths-A-Thon is a structured challenge where learners solve as many problems as possible across different formats and rounds. The goal is to encourage mathematical thinking, promote friendly competition, and build confidence through active participation. Unlike traditional tests, the focus is on fun, timed challenges that engage learners in new ways.

Games and format
The Parkdene Academy Maths-A-Thon featured two fast-paced games – Maths 24 and Mathster Blast. Learners competed across multiple rounds designed to test both speed and accuracy, with the top three competitors in each game recognised for their performance.

Building mathematical confidence

Parkdene Academy’s version captured the essence of these challenges without a fundraising component, focusing instead on learning and achievement.
