Have a playdate with your child
Are you looking for interesting activities to do with your toddler over holidays or weekends? From arts and crafts and fantasy play, to physical activities and fun experiments, you can spend quality time with your child in a fun, even developmental, way. Janet Beyrooti, Curro’s early childhood development (ECD) specialist, shared a wealth of ideas on how you can have playdates at home with your child. Have a look at the infographics below and get ready for loads of fun. Each of the activities featured is designed to support your child’s development in crucial areas like motor skills, language, and social-emotional growth. The best part? You don’t need any special equipment or expertise – just your time, love and enthusiasm.
Why is playing important for children?
Children learn by discovering the world around them. Babies explore shapes and textures by squeezing, shaking, licking, and otherwise exploring playthings around them. Older toddlers learn the basics of counting and addition by moving and grouping blocks or other objects. All discoveries made through play lay the foundation for the learning that follows. In addition, when you embrace quality time playing with your child, you build a strong, loving bond. We understand that true readiness for learning starts with the whole body – not just a desk. For babies, toddlers, and young children, the ability to sit still and maintain good posture doesn’t come from simply being placed at a table. Developing these foundational skills is essential for confident, focused learning. Download our building bodies ready to sit booklet to discover practical tips and activities that support your child’s physical readiness for learning, setting them up for success from the very start.
